Komal Parmar Chauhan [1989 – 1995]

I, along with my two Sisters Krishna and Nirmala and Brother Manish all have fond memories of studying in Jai Bharat and New Jai Hind school, from Nursery till 7th grade from 1983 till 1995.  Translation:

“When I remember joining New Jai Hind school in 1989, at the age of 6, I get lost in fond memories. Looking for those childhood days, looking for those days when my gurus used to give us wisdom and knowledge, and looked after us as if we were at home. Dalal Madam and Neeshat Madam gave us pure love and dedication, and I salute them and my heartfelt thanks. I still cannot forget those years, and that love and dedication will will stay with me forever”.

He used to help a lot at Jai Bharat and New Jai Hind School and every year he collected the box for the Blind. He sadly left us in 2010. May his soul rest in peace”.

Krishna Parmar [1987 – 1997]

I live in Rajkot and studied in New Jai Hind School over 34 years ago. It was a very well known school then, and my Father admitted me in 1987, where my older Brother Manish was studying, and my two younger Sisters were also admitted in 1990. To be honest I was not keen on studying and yet when I remember those childhood days I get a sense of joy and happiness. I remember Neeshat Madam and her good nature very fondly.

I live in Rajkot, am 36 years old and wish to share my memories of New Jai Hind School, opposity Chowdhary High School. I was admitted in 1990, and loved going to school. My madam Neeshat Dalal was very loving, and she taught us values in a very positive way, for which I thank Neeshat Madam. Our Principal Madam Virbalaben Dalal also had a very good nature and she taught us by explaining lovingly. That was nearly 30 years ago but I still miss my school and my teachers.

I was about ten when I with my elder sister took entry as an external student in Jai Bharat School.  We had to attend this school every evening after our regular school. And that was when our journey began with this extraordinary organisation.  Our parents took our admission here especially for learning English. But, the school did not limit our development in learning English only, it opened for us a new horizon for other activities too that helped build our personality remarkably.  Though we were not internal/regular students of Jai Bharat School, we never felt like outsiders. The warmth, care, guidance and support shown by the students, teachers and the Dalal family itself were indefinable.

Starting from the method of learning English to any extra curricular activities, the school had its own innovative ways that made this school outstanding and incomparable amongst other ones.  Other developmental and progressive activities like drawing, crafting, fancy dress competition, sports day celebration were phenomenal. Dancing including classical, western as well as break dancing were full of enjoyment and new trend setter at that time. We used to take part in competitions. That’s how the school helped us in developing team spirit and sportsmanship within ourselves.

Moreover, the school used to arrange picnics at regular intervals at different places of Gujarat. One of the memorable picnic was at ‘Nal Sarovar’. Later on, our affection kept increasing for the school and Dalal family to such an extent that we were like one family.  I have a huge respect for Sir Shri Prafulbhai Dalal, Ma’m Smt. Virbalaben Dalal and Ma’m Kum. Neeshatben Dalal for shaping my bright future and creating a vision for my better life. The school acted as a true guardian for us. I am really grateful to the school for nurturing and upbringing my personality.  Namaste’ and Jai Hind

Sangita Rajendra Raya – my sweet little sister – left us in 1996 hopefully for a better place.  Jai Bharat School had a family like atmosphere where children were nurtured and trained for life. Virbalaben put her soul into this venture named after her children Jayam and Bharat. She is an example of a woman of substance who bloomed inspite of many odds.  I speak highly of her because she rose with determination to create this nest of knowledge.

Sangita Raya was a happy child who enjoyed and loved going to school.  She was always smiling and full of love.

I attended the extra curricular evening classes run by Ms Neeshat Madam. I have loads of respect for her. I wish, in every child’s life, there would be a teacher like her – co-operative and depicting good manners, who has a pleasant personality, great interpersonal communication and administrative skills. She was very supportive for us and had great human resource potential.  It was a wonderful experience studying and growing at Jai Bharat School, and I enjoyed every moment. I learned so many good qualities from her, and I still remember many different activities run by the school, including dance, arts and crafts, as well as learning English.

It is a great pleasure that I was part of Jai Bharat School. God Bless You

I joined Evening classes in – 1990-95, mainly to learn English, my teacher was Nirmalaben Parekh. I participated in the Talent show of New Jai Hind School, and also trained students of this wonderful school to dance. It was a dream come true – fairy tale event and very mesmerising for me. I participated in all events and really enjoyed teaching dance to students of New Jai Hind school. I really looked forward to the evening classes.  I was very close to Neeshat mam and she gave me a lot of love like a mother. I miss all my friends of that school. My memory of the Play School at Jai Bharat School is very vivid… it was a more sensory experience. The smell especially was like a mix of sweet hillside in a European countryside along with a play of music. I used to always wait to go into the dolls house as it was little World where I felt so excited to see my doll friends all over again.  I miss the warm and soft hugs of Neeshat Mam. She was always so charming and beautiful that I used to get mesmerised by her charm! I will forever be grateful to the Institute for such wonderful memories which I can cherish for a lifetime.

Today, I Thank you for everything and making me part of a great school – Neeshat Mam. This school has worked very hard in developing the talents in students and training them to perform on stage. This school conducted the best shows in our time, and had the best teachers and friends. I have been blessed to have an amazing teacher like you who has come into my life and to whom I am able to call a friend too. Thank you seems so inadequate for all that you have done for us.  I wish you good health and prosperity in life.

Hello Mam. Couldn’t help but feel nostalgic about my time at school and one of the things I still remember is, you calling me a parrot.. heheh.. have come a long way since then.  Am now based in the US

Though my stint at Jai Bharat was not very long but it will always be close to my heart as it was one of the first places of my learning and contributed in my formative years, making me the person I am today.

Virbalaben Dalal, a courageous lady sprung an education school which not only imparted practical values but social and psychological values too. I am proud to be who I am and credit goes to Jai Bharat School and all my mentors for selflessly pouring their soul to groom us.

It’s been wonderful being a part of New Jai Hind School. They developed my personality from being a very shy person to a very confident person. My overall development and growth took place in New Jai Hind School. I remember when a war in Iraq took place and we used to meditate and pray for all mankind. Neeshat Mam used to visit the Yogoda Satsnga Society of India where I learned to read books of Paramhansa Yogananda. It inspired me to teach my children too.  Guru is a person who can do magic for loving and caring and making us what we want to become in future. I am very happy and blessed to have been a part of New Jai Hind School. I used to participate in Sports, Craft, Dance etc and enjoyed all these activities.
